Our know-how was in demand for the new construction of the Mahlberg-Ost service station, Baden-Württemberg. The need for 190 metres of drainage channel HYDROblock® with a nominal width of 300 mm became apparent.
New Construction of the Truck Stop Mahlberg East
Our know-how was in demand for the new construction of the Mahlberg-Ost service station, Baden-Württemberg. The need for 190 metres of drainage channel HYDROblock® with a nominal width of 300 mm became apparent. We developed the entire concept in close cooperation with the Freiburg Regional Council and the planning office ITP GmbH.
One side of the channel was asphalted and concrete was poured on the opposite side. The drainage channel was to be laid in a predefined radius. The main consideration was the enormous dynamic forces that have to be absorbed by the drainage channel at a petrol station and service area due to the transverse traffic of the trucks.
Drainage Channel for heavy duty areas
For these highly frequented heavy-duty areas, the HYDROblock® system is the optimal solution. The monolithic drainage channel made of ductile cast iron is classified as "TYPE I" according to DIN EN 1433 and meets all requirements for safety and stability. The push-fit socket system guarantees easy installation. The drainage channel can be paved, concreted or asphalted directly, regardless of the load class. This creates the desired uniform appearance, as can now be seen at the Mahlberg-Ost service area.
